Dr. Merrill Farrand D.O.

Dr. Merrill Farrand Jr. D.O. is a graduate of the New Jersey Osteopathic School of Medicine. After graduating he traveled to Maine to serve his internship and residency at The Osteopathic Hospital of Maine in Portland.

Dr. Farrand has been practicing medicine since 1985, first in his own solo family practice, which at the time also included obstetrics for more than 30 years. He then practiced family medicine at University Healthcare (University of New England) from 2002 to 2004, at which point he was asked to join The Medical Group in Kennebunk, with Dr. Jonathan Shill. He practiced family medicine and obstetrics there until it was purchased by Goodall Hospital and eventually merged into Southern Maine Healthcare Family Medicine where he continued to work until an opportunity to practice patient centered medicine presented itself, and he joined Dr. Jonathan Shill Family Practice.

A staunch supporter of patient centered medicine, Dr. Farrand is currently practicing in that environment. He specializes in the care of the entire family, and in some instances has cared for up to four generations of his long time patient’s families.
